Vision, Mission & Objectives
Mission Statement

A people-centred organisation with the professional competence and commitment to deliver timely, relevant and reliable services, information and advice to potential and existing entrepreneurs on all aspects of business resulting in increased competitiveness, higher levels of business success and sustainability in the local private sector.

Vision Statement

To be the focal point for the delivery of technical support, advisory and information services to the private sector for the facilitation of an enabling environment which will encourage the growth and development of an entrepreneurial spirit in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
 
General Objectives of CED
 
  Increased economic growth and employment;
  Increased diversification of the economic activity;
  Poverty reduction.

Specific Objectives

The specific objectives of the CED are:

 A To increase the number of viable enterprises in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
 B To strengthen the institutional support base for private sector development in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

Expected Results

  The formulation and adoption of an improved legislative policy framework that will contribute to the creation and maintenance of an environment that will enable and encourage the rapid increase in the number enterprises operating in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
  The establishment of a dedicated institutional support base with the capacity to provide the technical and administrative support needed to stimulate start-up, development, and expansion of business ventures.
  The provision of adequate on-going assistance to potential and actual investors in business ventures in accessing available fiscal and other incentives.
  The provision of adequate on-going assistance to potential and actual investors in business ventures in securing the necessary licenses, approvals, and permissions required by the legislative and regulatory framework.
  The sustained delivery in collaboration with other stakeholders (e.g. the NDF, InvestSVG, Chamber of Commerce) to provide a comprehensive programme of training and technical assistance designed to upgrade business skills and knowledge to agreed standards.
  The maintenance of a comprehensive Business Information Network (Enterprise Service & Information Hub) to enable easy access for entrepreneurs to needed data on equipment, import statistics, export opportunities, raw material sources and prices, and relevant technologies and other relevant business information.
  The provision of scheduled professional training seminars, workshops and attachments in order to increase/upgrade business skills and knowledge.
  The provision of regular educational activities geared for national, sectoral or community audiences, or at the plant level designed to increase awareness of entrepreneurship and opportunities within the business sector; Extension of the business training and educational programme into the rural communities.
