A new type of service is being offered by a young entrepreneur, who is one of three business owners to be selected as an incubatee under CED Business Gateway’s business incubation programme.
Support Services Legal Inc. is not a law firm, nor does it comprise of legal practitioners. Its owner/manager, Mr. Charleston Jackson, had the foresight and passion to start the business after realizing that there is a demand for such services in the society.
With almost two decades of legal, hospitality and corporate experience garnered from working in this field in several Caribbean islands, including the British Virgin Islands, Antigua and St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Jackson felt the time was right for him to start his business after hearing about the Business Gateway Project. There is a wide range of services being offered that the public and the business sector can benefit from. Among them is documentation preparation, research, client referrals, conducting due diligence exercises, process service, industrial relations, human resource consultancy, dispute resolution and mediation, and public relations.
Support Services Legal Inc. also does documentation for incorporation of legal entities, maritime shipping, and messenger service.
“We provide support services to firms, partnerships and sole practitioners in the legal, corporate, hospitality and financial, and other service sectors,” Jackson explains.
Jackson says developments and trends in the economic, social and technological sectors of the society make it more difficult for businesses to keep pace. “Legal practitioners, accountants, corporate administrators, hotel management companies, service providers, among others, are saddled with the responsibility of meeting the ever increasing demands of their clientele and are, in many instances, over extended in their quest to prove equal to these increasing demands within the time frames that the services are required to be rendered…Support Services Legal emerged out of these felt needs and demands,” he states.
Still a very new business, the future looks bright for Jackson and his business. Already persons are making use of the services and Jackson is capable and ready to meet the demands. He is also grateful that CED Business Gateway has made it easier for him to get his business up and running and for the range of services they provide to him.
